Use your power after dark.

Become one of the energy empowered and add a battery to your solar system. Nectr makes it easy with a Buy Now Pay Later plan.

Why adding a battery to your solar systems makes sense

More than 2 million Australians already know the benefits of installing solar panels on their house. For many, the next logical step is to add a battery but this can mean weighing up the upfront costs of a battery system against expected future savings and benefits.

Adding a battery means you:

  • capture and store any unused power generated by your solar panels
  • lower your reliance on the electricity grid
  • monitor your home energy usage
  • continue to use your power during black outs
  • are protected from the threat of ‘solar tax’
  • lower the financial impact of ongoing reductions in Feed-In-Tariffs credits
  • are set up for future ongoing savings
  • reduce your carbon footprint
  • become one of the energy empowered

  • Must own the premises where the battery system is being installed
  • Premises must be suitable to install a battery system
  • Must currently have a fully functioning solar system installed that is compatible with battery system and exports at least 2MWh of electricity a year
  • Must have an available, continuous and reliable broadband internet connection at the premises with an internet modem, a spare ethernet portal and WIFI connectivity
  • No one on your premises can be dependent on life support
  1. Electricity plan

We don’t plan to change your energy plan pricing during the 5-year contract term.

The only reason we would be able to vary your electricity prices is where the costs we incur in selling you electricity varies or we expect they will, but only where that cost variation arises from a future Change in Law. Some examples of previous Change in Law events include the introduction of a carbon tax and a new government levy to support ambulance services. We would provide you with advance notice of any variation in your electricity prices.

  1. Battery component

Monthly cost is calculated on total cost of battery (Nectr does not add fees or mark ups) divided into 60 equal instalments (Buy Now, Pay Later contract).

In SA, Government rebate will be claimed by the Installer. The Standard Cost of Battery System may reduce by the amount of rebate, if applicable.

If you decide to exit the Battery Buy Now, Pay Later contract early, you must pay the remainder of the Battery balance. Please note, the Battery Price decreases uniformly each month before reaching $0 on the day your contract ends at 5 years.

If you decide to exit the Battery contract, you can still continue with the associated energy plan and $10 VPP participation. However you can also switch to another retailer at this point with no exit fees.

Some reasons for early exit include:

  • You sell or vacate your premise
  • You fail to pay three bills by their due date in any 12-month period
  • You fail to meet eligibility criteria of contracts during the contract period

A Basic Plan Information Document (BPID) is available upon request. A BPID is an information sheet that contains all the key details of a plan. Please contact our team for more information
