Café owner manages daytime energy demands with Nectr
The smell of brewing coffee and the sound of frothing milk are synonymous with a quality coffee experience at Sydney based Blue Café 36. However, creating the perfect cappuccino or iced latte does involve ongoing energy use, but thankfully café owner Tom has found an answer.
Tom is the owner Blue Café 36 who admits that he needs to constantly keep on top of operational costs, particularly energy costs, of running his café to avoid bill shock at the end of the month.
Working with Nectr’s small business experts, Tom has joined as a Nectr Business Buzz plan customer to get better energy outcomes for his small business.
Lighting, refrigeration, and cooking make up just some of the energy demands for Tom’s business, with the busy Sydney café attracting a mix of office workers, tourists and the general public to enjoy coffees, toasties, burgers and more over breakfast and lunch.
Working with Nectr’s small business experts, Tom was able to identify the energy usage patterns of his business and work out how best to manage these needs to improve energy efficiencies and reduce costs.
Some businesses experience busier morning or afternoon periods, peaks in energy demand during festive and holiday times, or ongoing all day energy demands. The Nectr Business Buzz plan is helping small businesses improve their daytime energy management to achieve better business outcomes.
