Battery systems, and solar and battery systems
New South Wales
The following state-based incentives are available for low- to middle-income households and concession card holders in New South Wales.
Program |
NSW's Solar for Low Income Households provides eligible households with the installation of a 3-kilowatt solar panel system. Nectr doesn't currently offer 3-kilowatt solar panel systems, however we do have compatible solar battery add-on systems available, which can help you to save even more money. |
Australian Capital Territory
The following state-based incentives are available for pensioner concession card holders in the ACT.
Program |
Pensioner concession card holders in the ACT can receive a rebate of up to 50% (capped at $2,500) to install rooftop solar panels, as well as the option to pay for the remainder of the system with an interest-free loan. |
South Australia
Unfortunately, at this time, the South Australian government does not have any active state-specific rebates or incentives. However, South Australians can still participate in the Australia-wide Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES).
Queensland
Eligible Queenslanders can receive solar incentives worth on average $2,772, for a standard 5kW solar system installed under the national SRES scheme. It is applied as a discount at the point of sale to reduce the cost of going solar. Additionally, Queensland solar incentives currently available include Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) and Feed-in Tariffs (FiTs). This helpful overview from the Queensland Government explains more.
Victoria
Eligible Victorian households can get a rebate from Solar Victoria under the Solar Home program.
Nectr offers a solar and battery system bundle in Victoria, and eligible customers can get the battery rebate when they install our solar and battery bundle.
Eligibility |
The Solar Home program encourages eligible Victorian households who have residential Solar to install a Solar Battery by offering a point-of-sale discount up to a maximum of $2950. This rebate is available for customers who choose Nectr’s solar and battery bundle. Eligibility criteria apply. |
New solar customers
Available to all Australians, the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES) is a financial incentive to install solar panels.
Recipients receive a small-scale technology certificate (STC), calculated on the amount of renewable electricity that the system they are installing produces or replaces (i.e., electricity from non-renewable sources).
These STCs can be sold to recoup a portion of the cost of purchase and installation. Many owners assign the right to create their STCs to a registered agent, but there is also the option to create and trade the certificates yourself.
This calculator can help you to estimate the number of STCs that could be created.
Please note that when you receive a quote from Nectr, your STCs will have already been factored into the cost.
Summary of the SRES eligibility requirements:
Eligibility |
The panels and inverter installed are listed on the Clean Energy Council list of approved components |
The system is installed by a Clean Energy Council accredited designer and installer (that meets the Clean Energy Council design and installation guidelines) |
Received a certificate from the installer (created within 12 months of the installation) |
Meets Australian standards |
Complies with all local, state, territory and federal requirements, including electrical safety |
The system is classified as small-scale: solar panel system that has a capacity of no more than 100 kW, and a total annual electricity output of less than 250 MWh |
