One of the benefits of becoming a Nectr customer is being able to share your energy experience with your friends or family. Our "Refer a Friend" program allows you to share your unique referral customer code with your nearest and dearest so that you can both benefit from a one-off bill credit. In this blog, we'll answer some frequently asked questions about how our program works, how you can access your referral code, and how an existing customer can utilise our app to make the code-sharing process easier.

How to get started

Once you’ve finalised your details and have successfully joined Nectr, we will send you a “Welcome Pack” email. Inside the welcome pack is a unique referral code that you own and can use to send to your friends and family.

How does the referral code work?

For the referral code to successfully work, two criteria need to be met:

Your friend or family member must successfully sign up to Nectr with your unique referral code
You, as the referrer, must have paid your first Nectr bill in full by the due date

Once both of these have been finalised, then you will both receive a one-off $50 credit on your energy bills (this is usually your second bill.)

Is there a limit to the number of people I can refer through Nectr's Refer a Friend program?

No, you can refer as many people as you want through Nectr’s Refer a Friend program. However, you will only receive the $50 referral reward credit for the first four friends you refer each month. Make sure you read the terms and conditions for full details.

Does Nectr have an app?

Nectr does have an easy-to-use interactive app that allows you to self-manage your account. It also includes an option for you to refer your friends and family.

Please keep in mind that you must only share your referral link with friends who are aged 18 or over, live in the applicable energy network areas and who have given their implied or express consent to receive the referral invitation from you. Additionally, you must not publish or advertise your referral link, or share it with anyone other than your friends who have consented to receive it. If Nectr has any reason to believe that your referral link is compromised, Nectr may invalidate your referral link and may elect to issue you with a new one.
