Nectr brings their affordable clean energy solutions to Canberra.
Australian energy retailer Nectr expands into the ACT, highlighting national leadership in the renewables space
Nectr expands into the ACT bringing affordable 100% carbon neutral and 100% GreenPower plans to the market.
CANBERRA, 7 FEBRUARY 2022
As the ACT leads the country’s renewable energy transition, Australian energy retailer, Nectr announces its entry into the Territory, offering ACT residents cleaner, greener and more affordable energy options that do good by their wallets, as well as the planet.
Frustration with the energy industry is heating up, with 49% of Australians reporting unhappiness with their current energy provider[1]. Despite this, one in four admit they rarely consider switching to another provider[1], which could be costing them more in the long run.
Further to this is widespread dissatisfaction with action on climate change, with 57% of consumers willing to change their purchasing habits[2] to reduce their impact on the environment.
With a mission to clean up energy to make it better for everyone, Nectr enters the energy market in the ACT with a promise of competitive energy rates and plans that reduce carbon emissions into the atmosphere and support Australia’s renewable energy sector.
“Canberra’s leadership as the first city in the Southern Hemisphere to purchase its energy from 100% renewable sources[3]is progressive and forward-thinking. That’s how we see Nectr’s role in supporting the energy industry’s transition to net zero,” said Andrew Butler, Nectr Managing Director.
“Our business is born digital, which means that we can quickly adapt to the integration of renewables into the energy system to manage consumption demand and improve our efficiencies and sustainability.”
With Climate Active certification and GreenPower accreditation, Nectr is one of a select few Australian retailers to offer both 100% carbon neutral and 100% GreenPower plans.
“Nectr offers 100% carbon neutral plans as standard, and we challenge other retailers to do the same. Our customers want to know that the businesses they support can help them to reduce their impact on the environment, and Nectr is ready to step up to their calls,” said Mr Butler.
“Nectr believes that every household should have access to affordable energy that suits their consumption habits, while also driving Australia’s renewable energy transformation.”
From 7 February, ACT residents can access Nectr’s cleaner, greener energy plans, including:
- Nectr 100% Clean - A 100% carbon neutral electricity plan with fixed energy rates for 12 months that makes a positive impact on the environment.
- Nectr 100% GreenPower - A plan that displaces 100% of a household's electricity usage with certified renewable energy and supports Australia’s renewable energy sector.
- Nectr 100% Clean Solar - 100% carbon neutral plan for households that have existing solar PV systems of 10kW or less.
- Nectr Super Solar - 100% carbon neutral and an ideal FiT plan for households with mid-range usage and exports up to 50% of capacity.
With an Australian based customer care team, monthly billing, no move-in or exit fees, competitive rates, and plans underpinned by investment in wind, solar and hydro projects, Nectr offers ACT residents the opportunity to take charge of their energy consumption and reduce their impact on the environment.
