Nectr expands Penrith Panthers partnership in 2026 and beyond

Nectr takes new naming rights for the elite Penrith Panthers Rugby League Academy

SYDNEY - 27th November 2025 – Australian energy retailer Nectr has announced an expanded partnership with the Penrith Panthers, securing the naming rights for the club's elite training facility. The Panthers Rugby League Academy will officially be renamed the Nectr Rugby League Academy.

The new naming rights agreement expands on Nectr’s longstanding relationship with the Penrith Panthers, whose branding has featured on the back-left panel of the club’s playing and training shorts for the past three seasons. This expanded partnership will run through the 2026 and 2027 seasons, with an option to extend.

In addition, Nectr's commitment is expanding deep into the grassroots level by directly supporting the Panthers Juniors, the largest Junior Rugby League nursery in the Southern Hemisphere. This vast network consists of over 580 teams and 8,500 participants, spanning all age groups from 4 years old up to open age competitions. Nectr's support helps power 23 clubs across a wide region, stretching from Blacktown in the east to Katoomba in the west, and from Hawkesbury in the north to Wallacia in the south. Notably, this crucial nursery proudly includes 1,950 female participants, ensuring Nectr is supporting the growth and development of the sport for every young player in the region.

Hayden Barry, Managing Director of Nectr, commented on the significance of the partnership: “This renewed partnership is about more than naming rights; it's a shared commitment to a cleaner, sustainable, and more inclusive future. By aligning with the Penrith Panthers, Nectr is amplifying our mission to drive positive change in the community, both on and off the field.”

The alignment between Nectr and the Penrith Panthers is rooted in a joint commitment to sustainability and efficiency. The newly named Nectr Rugby League Academy stands as a true reflection of this commitment, being powered by solar panels installed by a Nectr subsidiary in 2021. This sustainable infrastructure has already delivered substantial benefits, saving the club more than $54,000 in annual operating expenses through greener infrastructure and lower operating costs.

Matt Cameron, Panthers Rugby League CEO, welcomed the extended partnership: “We are thrilled to extend our partnership with Nectr. Their support has been instrumental in creating an environment that is not only high-performing but also sustainable, ensuring the long-term success of our club on the field and in the community.”

A recent recipient of four 2026 Mozo Expert Choice Awards, Nectr is dedicated to supporting Australian homes and businesses in transitioning to a cleaner, more efficient energy future, with sustainability and innovation at its core. As part of the ongoing partnership, Penrith Panthers members can enjoy a direct benefit: $500 off their total installation cost when they choose Nectr to power their home or business with sustainable energy solutions.
