Nectr is now offering ACT residents affordable solar energy solutions.

25th July, 2022

ACT households are now a step closer to affordable energy independence, thanks to award-winning energy retailer Nectr launching solar, and solar and battery energy bundles.

Currently, the ACT Government provides generous solar and battery rebates – as well as financial incentives – to cut the cost of installing solar power systems and home energy storage. With only 20% of homes in the ACT[1] having rooftop solar plus the rising electricity costs, more Canberrans are considering household solar and battery options.

Nectr’s latest solar, and solar and battery energy bundles include competitive electricity rates, shorter contract periods, premium and performance-based hardware, and simple monthly payment plans.

“ACT aims to have 100% of electricity supply sourced from renewables plus is leading the way on promoting the purchase of electric cars, which aligns with Nectr’s vision for Australia becoming a global leader and supporter in renewable energy,” said Andrew Butler, Nectr Managing Director.

“That’s why we’re supporting the ACT’s renewables goal by launching Nectr’s solar, and solar and battery energy bundles in this market. Nectr’s new energy bundles will enable ACT residents to harness and store the power of the sun to use in their household when they need it, particularly during peak periods, and minimise energy drawn from the grid.”

“At Nectr we’re committed to helping Australians find more affordable, greener, cleaner energy solutions to suit their needs and lifestyle. Our solar, and solar and battery energy bundles can get ACT homeowners on the road to energy independence – which means they can start saving money on energy even sooner,” said Andrew.

  • Nectr Bee Solar Bundle Plan – For customers taking their first step to energy independence. A customer-owned system receiving a feed-in tariff. Bundled with a 3-year fixed energy plan. The solar component paid off in equal instalments over the contract period. Installation by a New Energy Tech approved seller / CEC-accredited installer.
  • Nectr Bee System Bundle (solar and battery energy bundle) – For customers seeking energy independence. Bundled with a 5-year fixed energy plan and a monthly VPP credit. Hardware components paid off in equal instalments over the contract period. Installation by a New Energy Tech approved seller / CEC-accredited installer.

With an Australian-based customer care team and a commitment to support Australians in reducing their energy bills by tapping into renewable energy sources, Nectr’s solar, and solar and battery energy bundles offer ACT residents the power to take charge of their energy consumption with cleaner, greener forms of energy.

About Nectr

Nectr is an Australian energy retailer that offers 100% carbon-neutral energy plans in addition to solar, battery add ons and solar and battery bundles with Clean Energy Council certified installation to deliver affordable, cleaner, greener energy solutions for Australians. Established in 2019, Nectr has disrupted the Australian energy industry, offering 100% carbon-neutral energy plans as standard – and challenging other retailers to do the same. In 2022 Nectr ranked among the top 10 greenest energy retailers in Australia according to Greenpeace’s Green Electricity Guide and is one of a select few retailers to offer both 100% carbon neutral and 100% GreenPower energy plans. Nectr is backed by Hanwha Energy, one of the world's largest manufacturers of solar panels, and is investing in various renewable projects in Australia. The Hanwha Group has committed to over AU$5billion investment in eco-friendly initiatives to achieve net-zero by 2050.
