Nectr - Powered by Aussie Wind, Solar & Energy Storage

Nectr has signed long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with renewable projects, locking in a portion of generation from multiple renewable assets in Australia. That means more locally sourced renewable energy supporting our customers and a cleaner grid.

What is a PPA?

A PPA is a contract where Nectr buys electricity (and associated certificates) generated from a renewable asset (like wind or solar farm) at agreed terms for years ahead. This helps provide more support for investments and bring more renewable energy to market while we can keep plans sharp and transparent for customers. Wind generation often peaks overnight and in cooler months, complements solar in our mix, lifting the renewable share behind Nectr plans year-round.

How Renewable Energy Reaches Your Home

When you turn on the lights at home, your electricity comes from the shared national grid, not a dedicated line from one project. Nectr supports renewable generation through long term Power Purchase Agreements with projects across Australia. By committing to buy their output, we help keep more wind and solar in the overall energy mix and give these projects the revenue certainty they need to operate and grow.

For some plans, we also use accredited certificate arrangements, which provide extra assurance about how the green content of your plan is accounted for. So while the power looks the same at your switch, your choice of retailer helps drive cleaner energy across the grid.
